Montfort Hr. Sec. School Garratola, Th. Birsa, Dist. Balaghat, is continuously progressive in last 24 years. The organization operated with the aim of illuminating the light of education among the children of tribal and extremely backward society, is currently moving towards its silver jubilee.
Establishment :
In the year 1998, with the help of Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel Society province of Hyderabad under the leadership of Brother Sabastian K.M. in Garratola of the village rented a single room where with two teachers class was started. Initially total 13 students had taken admission with that class 6th and 7th started. On June 5th 2000 the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel Society appointed the first principal in the school as Brother Sajan Antony. Brother Sajan Antony who was a young and hardworking man with strong personality. Who started going in the direction to progress the school from the beginning, under which we first increased the academic staff as well as admission of children.
Bro. M. A. Antony :
Bro. M. A. Antony came to Garratola as principal from 2005 after the transfer of Bro. Sajan. You have also contributed significantly in the overall development of the school. He got the school building completed up to the second step, the construction of boy’s Hostel and inaugurated the Higher Secondary School i.e. class 11th and 12th with Biology and Mathematics. Construction of basketball and Football ground was also his special contribution.
Bro. David Indwar :
From the session 2013, Brother David Indwar took over as the third principal of school. From the session 2013-18. You have done many developmental and commendable works. Your special focus is on the increase the strength of the students and modern education.
In school class 10th and 12th board examination 100% result was your greatest achievement. Under the special achievements you started English Medium as per the demand of the public and created a new history in Garratola by getting a huge building constructed for English Medium.
Bro. Arogyam (Corona Period)
Bro Arogyam was appointed the principal of the school for three years from the session 2019 to 2021, from 2019 to 2021 unfortunately during this time, Covid Pandemic spread their foot all over the word, due to which the school had to face a lot of difficulties in running the online classes. The school had to be operated only through online class. A new subject Agriculture was launched in Secondary School, which was your special achievement.
Bro. David :
Session 2021, once again the management committee Hyderabad Province has appointed the principal by expressing faith in Bro. David. At present after the corona period, the systematic operation of the school by the Bro., both the Medium the number of students has increased and the high level of education is being emphasized.
At present the total number of students in Hindi medium……. and the number of students in English medium is………. And both the medium total 35 teachers are teaching and efficient operation of solved buses is being alone for the movement of children from remote areas. Hostel facility for the children.
